There is a lot more to a veterinary practice than the waiting room and consulting room although most people don't get to see that side of things.Have a browse through what goes on "behind the scenes" and what lies behind the "authorised staff only" sign!
Our waiting room/reception area is staffed throughout our opening hours so clients can call in anytime when we are open to book an appointment, make an enquiry or collect food/medication.
our vets and vet nurses consult in separate consulting rooms which are bright and clean but also spacious for those dogs which like to stay on the floor rather than get up on the consulting table!
Our "prep" (short for preparation) room is where we anaesthetise animals and prepare them for surgery, take blood samples, do dental procedures, clean wounds and lots of other things.
Once the patient has been anaesthetised and prepared for surgery they go through into the operating theatre for their procedure.
We have an on-site xray room so if your pet needs to have an xray taken we can do it here, most of the time they will need to be sedated or have a general anaesthetic to make sure they keep still while we take the image.
Our "in house" laboratory equipment means that we can run some samples immediately and have results within half an hour. There are some samples/tests that we cannot do at the practice so we send these off to an external lab by courier so we can get the results back as soon as possible.
